Rakesh Mali is an experienced software professional with over 12 years of experience in designing and developing end-to-end products such as Smart Lights, Smart Sensors, Smart Cards, Wireless Gateways, IoT Devices, VoIP Hard Phones, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Simulators, and Wireless Probes. He is currently working as an Engineering Manager at Signify Innovations (Philips Lighting) where he is responsible for the design and development of Connected Buildings Solutions based on Smart Lights, Connected Lighting, Sensors, and IoT. Rakesh is proficient in Embedded Software, Linux System and Application development using C, C++, Python & Node.js. He has experience working with ARM processor, Beaglebone Black, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, NodeMCU (ESP8266/ESP32) & Wireless Modems. He is also skilled in Product Design & Development, Hiring, Training & Mentorship, Project Management & Planning, People & Cost Management. He has strong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills and has filed 4 patents at German Patent Office. In his previous roles, Rakesh has worked as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Giesecke+Devrient Mobile Security where he was responsible for SIM Card OS and Mobile Security Platform Development. He has also worked as a Module Lead - Developer at Tech Mahindra where he was involved in the design and development of Wireless Probe, a monitoring & test equipment used to test performance of a wireless network used by carrier service providers. Rakesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication from P.E.S. Modern College of Engg., Pune University. He also has a strong educational background with a degree in H.S.C. from Lakshmanrao Apte Jr. College, Pune and S.S.C. from J.N. Petit Technical High School, Pune. In addition to his technical skills, Rakesh is a technology enthusiast & geek who likes to work on DIY kind of stuff.
